Power Retrieval

Power Retrieval: Trauma Healing

Whenever a person suffers an emotional or physical trauma they lose a part of themselves as a result of the experience which causes loss of their personal power. Trauma is a subjective word. What is traumatic for one person may be different for another person. Everyone’s experiences shape them differently, so how they respond or react to emotional or physical hurts and pain also differs.

Experiences that can cause power loss include, but are not limited to:

  • Abuse (emotional, physical, or sexual)

  • Victim

  • Abuser

  • Illness / Injury

  • Surgery

  • Betrayal

  • Divorce

  • Unresolved issues

  • Acting against your own beliefs or moral values

  • Forced to act against your will

  • Being disowned, ostracized, estranged, or abandoned

  • Accidents

  • Hardships

  • Prolonged unmet needs (Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs)

  • Addictions

  • Being a victim of a crime

  • Committing a major crime

  • Loss / Death

  • Natural disasters

  • War

In the psyche’s effort to protect the person from experiencing the full impact of the pain (emotional or physical), or to save the person from death, their soul disassociates away from their body. This is the role of the shaman to tap into higher sources of consciousness to identify and find the lost power of the person, return it to him/her, and teach the person how to do this. It's important to understand that power loss can happen at ANY age, even before birth, and the negative effects can continue throughout a person's life therefore manifesting as the examples in the list below.

Symptoms of soul loss include, but not limited to:

  • Depression

  • Severe anxiety

  • Unrelenting grief

  • PTSD

  • Additions

  • Suicidal thoughts or attempts

  • Loss of compassion (this does not mean that a person has to feel or show compassion for everyone)

  • Inability to feel or give love (this does mean that a person has to feel love from or give love to everyone)

  • Feelings of significant anger or rage (also acting out of these emotions)

  • Feelings shame or guilt

  • Extreme unexplained fatigue

  • Insomnia

  • Lack of family, life, and work balance

  • Unmotivated

  • Indecisiveness

  • Lack of confidence

  • Unhealthy patterns of behavior or choices

  • Limited focus and attention

  • Struggling with creativity

  • Immune deficiency issues

  • Recurring, non-healing, or major health and wellness problems (this includes mental health problems)

  • Anytime someone says they have never been the same since a certain event and they don’t mean it in a good way

As you work with Shaman Tam in power retrieval, she will be able to determine the root cause of your power loss. The root cause may not be as obvious to you as you may think, but with direct revelation from higher sources of consciousness she gains knowledge and insight beyond human understanding. She then shares this knowledge and insight with you. From there Tam will walk you through a shamanic journey through the mirror to connect you back, or even surpass, the person you were in your power. After that she will share with you what she learned from the spirit world about what you need to do to successfully maintain your power retrieval. This will ALWAYS require you to do outside work as a follow up to this session. You will then work together with her in constructing an action / accountability plan for you to ensure your greatest success in retaining your power and gaining even more. One option is for you to continue working with Shaman Tam in MYND-over-Mind Shamanic Coaching. This is not a requirement. The follow up work may also be therapy and/or lifestyle changes.

If Shaman Tam determines that you are not ready for your power to be returned to you, meaning you’re still in the situation that caused your power loss or any situation that is not conducive for your lost power's return, then she will not perform your power retrieval. She will assess this during an intake call. From there she will take you on a self-awareness and mirror reflection shamanc journey to help you prepare yourself for a power retrieval later. If you are ready at this time, she will work with you in putting together a next-steps-action- steps plan as a follow up to this sesssion.
